NATIVE PLANTS

The Burraja Aboriginal Cultural Centre has recently installed a bush resource garden where people can wander and learn about the useable native plants common to this region. The garden was funded by the Department of Justice and the installation was assist by Aboriginal volunteers at the Beechworth Correctional Centre.

The Garden

The garden has a diversity of local species that are traditionally used by Aboriginal people in this area, visit the garden to see what types of plants we have and learn about their traditional uses.

Weaving workshops

Burraja can also assist in providing weaving workshops for interested groups where participants can learn about the use of grasses in the north east Victoria and make a basket or string from natural fibres. Contact Us for all booking enquiries.
